An exquisite extension

“We worked with architect Marc Van Schuylenberg and managed the whole project,” says Adelbert Matthijs. The architect adds: “The property was originally a farmhouse. We opened it up at the rear by adding a new glazed section so that the occupants could have an unobstructed view of the garden from the living area. On the outside, we painted the existing house black all over and the new extension white, which creates a beautiful contrast as well as visual unity. We also used black in the bedroom, for both the bed and the walk-in wardrobe. This room looks out onto the garden too.”
